cats retired from our program

abundadots amaze in grace (f2) – “maizee”

Maizee was the first queen to be a part of our program. This 2nd generation queen had an exquisitely open, horizontal, ‘chaotic’ marble pattern… with a profile and head strongly resembling the ALC. At first sight we fell in love with her wild look; small rounded ocelli marked ears, stark white belly, puffy whisker pads, and amazing profile. This girls beauty and grace was only truly apparent when she finally arrived at our home, and stole our heart as well, with her uniquely adorable personality.

CH ABUNDADOTS HAUTE COUTURE – “pARIS”

Paris produced some of our best kittens while with us. She earned her Championship title in just one show, and had a sweetheart of a personality! Her coat was completely flat to the skin, and her pattern exhibited extreme contrast with black outlined, rust center filled rosettes that she passed on to her babies.

junglebook kismetta (F4) – “kismet”

Free Clipart Screened July 15, 2010 – Result: HCM ‘Normal’ – Healthy Heart Free Clipart

Kismet is one of the most beautiful Bengal girls we ever had the opportunity to work with. She had a very wild look about her that was quite different than many other Bengal’s, and she passed those wild traits on to her children. One of her best features were her mesmerizing eyes and the way they spoke volumes to you. We can’t thank Janice Tyler of Amantra, as well as Les Hall of Junglebook, enough for providing us the opportunity to work with this special girl! Kismet is what we refer to in the Bengal world as a silver snow (seal mink) Bengal – this means she was a snow Bengal that also carried the silver gene. She had wonderful Bengal type, a slinky wild body, low tail carriage and a sweet personality. Her legacy now lives on through her last produced daughter, Tori.

CH matahari alaskan tundra – “alaska”

Alaska was 1st born daughter of Ch Abundadots Hautecouture (Paris) and Matahari Grease Lightning. Her personality was unquestionably one of the best we’ve ever seen in an animal – Alaska loved attention and every person she met! With her beautiful jet black markings and silver glitter… perfect Bengal type and lovely rosettes, it was a difficult decision to retire her from our program. Awards: On Safari ’06 9th Best Bengal Cat, On Safari ’06 Best Bengal Adult Female, & On Safari ’06 Bengal Silver Bengal Adult.

matahari bijou (F5) – “bijou”

Bijou was the special result of Kismet’s first litter produced by us here at Matahari. We were ecstatic to find she was a female and not a male, as you can see she had the same wonderful attributes of her mother, Junglebook Kismetta – with those captivating, nocturnal eyes, a wonderfully exotic pattern and wild look.

Matahari grease lightning – “grease”

Grease was not only an amazing sire, but you could not ask for better temperament in a male stud cat, pet or otherwise… this cat will likely always hold top honors in our hearts as the sweetest Bengal to ever walk the earth. Grease was truly special from the day he was born – breach, not breathing and out of his sack for 30 minutes stuck in his mother. We tried to revive him and nothing… we had all but sadly given up when his little body gasped for a huge breath of air… and life with Grease began. Unlike most silver Bengals, he was also born heavily glittered… giving his coat the appearance of glass in the sunlight, and the texture of the softest velvet. He passed this lovely trait as well as his amazingly humble and sweet personality down to all his numerous babies. He will be greatly missed… but it was time for him to be a spoilt pet, just as we hope all our babies will come to be.

Puura was our first born ‘silver’ Bengal here at Matahari. She had the excellent Bengal type we were looking for, but in a silver coat. Puura was not glittered, but carried for glitter, and produced typey, silver glittered offspring.

matahari wurthy image – “emmy”

Emmy was from a second breeding of Snopride Legacy Lady to IW SGC Stonehenge Wurthawate of Snopride. The initial breeding of the same two cats produced our beloved stud, Snopride Wurthy Adversary (Balboa). Both cats have made some great contributions, and as we will continue our work wiht Emmy’s full brother, we decided it was time to let Emmy become a spoiled pet.

medoz fifth element – “akasha”

Akasha was our first ‘hot’ colored, sorrel brown Bengal cat! She had a fantastically clear, heavily glittered, rosetted coat with no rib barring… ultra-soft to the touch, rosettes galore. Her body was well balanced, yet slender and muscular for a female. Her best attributes have now been passed down to her daughter, who is also one of our current top breeders, Matahari Gone in Sixty Seconds.

CH stonehenge FULL THROTTLE – “THROTTLE”

Free Clipart Screened August 12th, 2010 – Result: HCM ‘Normal’ – Healthy Heart Free Clipart

We couldn’t be more pleased with this top quality boy from our good friend Sydney Welch at Stonehenge Bengals! Throttle has an amazing personality, and a pattern that just doesn’t quit! You can see his wonderful contrast below… and his fully open, jet black outlined rosettes… his pattern is big and bold! Add to that nicely set ears, a fantastic profile, strong chin, muscular body, and low tail carriage… and you’ve got a fantastic package!

stonehenge leadzepplin (f6) – “zepplin”

Zepplin was our ‘type’ girl! Her profile, head shape and the forward slope to her small, rounded ears were reminiscent of her wild ancestor, the Asian Leopard cat. She had fantastic boning and muscle for a female, whited expression to her belly and chest, and her tail was short and thick. Zepplin’s father, Awagati Leadbelli, has been the trendsetter behind most new-wave ALC head types currently seen in the breed.

stonehenge skiptomylou (f4) – “lil’ lou”

Lil’ Lou was always a house favorite… not only was she beautiful, but incredibly smart and sweet. We named her after her mother ‘Awagati Lou Lou of Stonehenge’ for which she looked so very much like! We were sad to have to retire her… but Lou always had complications giving birth, and we felt she deserved to become a loving pet, rather than continue to breed her with us.
